Your party kayaking session will last for about an hour and a half, and then if you wish you can relax with your friends and enjoy a picnic by the lake.
After meeting your instructor you will be given an introduction to the equipment and a safety briefing. You will enjoy a combination of playing group games and some skills challenges. The group will usually take a short river trip, and maybe even visit treasure island!

What age range is it for?
At Leamington, we run parties from age 6 up (there is a small surcharge for 6 and 7 year olds, to allow for an extra member of staff on the water).
At Warwick there is no boating lake - you go straight out on to the river. For this reason we can only run parties at Warwick for ages 8 and up.
Do I have to be able to swim?
No. Because everyone wears a buoyancy aid, we do take non-swimmers. However we do need to be informed at time of booking and on arrival at the centre if a non-swimmer is participating. The instructor will then keep a much closer eye on that child.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes! The party is led by a professional BCU qualified instructor and safety is our no. 1 priority. We are recognised as an approved centre for canoe and kayak training for children and adults, and is licensed by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority.
In warm weather: Basic sports wear e.g. shorts and t shirt. It’s sensible to bring a spare fleece top just in case it gets colder than expected. On hot days don’t forget sun screen, and a sun hat is a good idea.
If it’s cold/rainy: A fleece top and tracksuit type trousers (jeans and hoodies are not ideal, as they hold a lot of water). A warm hat is a good idea for cold days. Waterproofs are useful if you have them.
You must wear footwear - old trainers, sandals, or wet shoes. They must stay on in the water, so flip-flops and crocs are unsuitable.
A towel and a complete change of clothing (and shoes) are required for everyone!
Wetsuits are not essential but if you have one you can always bring it.
We provide buoyancy aids (compulsory), waterproof tops if needed, and all necessary paddling equipment. Showers and changing facilities are available and there is a take away snack bar.
When you book online, please use the coments box to tell us the name and age of the birthday child, and your prefered date and time slot (preferably give us 2 or 3 options). If your first option is unavailable, we will call you to confirm your time slot before completing the booking.
If you know the number of children coming to the party, you can use the options on the right to chose party size.
If not, you can chose to pay a deposit of £109 and let us know estimated numbers (using the comments box), then 2 weeks before the party we will ask you to confirm final numbers and pay the balance.

"Great fun! Kids had a wonderful time. Instructor (libby?) was brilliant with the kids.. allowed them to be manic whilst keeping control... the climbing on boats seemed to be the talk of school next day!
Would highly recommend. Bob."
