The first day will be a gentle introduction to sea paddling skills looking at boat handling and basic trip planning (weather, tides and tidal streams etc). On the second day we progress gently, do a slightly longer paddle possibly venturing a little further off shore. Anglesey not only offers great scenery and lots of interesting marine life, but, being an island, there is virtually always somewhere to paddle whichever way the wind is blowing. The trip is aimed at anyone who has done some paddling before and ideally practised at least 1 capsize drill (If in doubt give us a call or email). Stable, user friendly sea kayaks, decks, paddles etc are supplied (we have some great new sea boats including P&H Capella, Wilderness Tempest, Easkys & more). Accomodation is not included in the price.
Cost:
£139 if you have your own boat and kit
£159 if you'd like to use one of our boats

Times: The course starts at 9 am on saturday morning & finishes at approx 4 pm on Sunday. Many people travel up on the Friday evening & arrange the extra night with their own, or our, recommended accomodation.
Dates: Saturday June 30th - Sunday July 1st
The course will be based on Anglesey, North Wales on either the West or East coast. We use a few select B&B's for accomodation where we can hold morning meetings & brief theory sessions. Details & current costs are available upon request or you are welcome to book your own accomodation near by. Anglesey offers a wide range of fantastic paddling trips whatever the weather! Hence its reputation as a world class sea kayak destination. .
This course is for you if: You have some basic flat water kayak skills & have done at least 1 capsize drill before. Its especially for those who feel "the pull of the sea" - the desire for fresh, sea air & the fun adventure of being guided along rugged coastlines that meet the mighty sea. You will get to explore coves & caves that others rarely see & all from your humble, self-propelled kayak! The only way to feel more at one with the sea is to bring your trunks! The weekend is also suitable for BCU 3 star sea kayak training and 3 Star Assessments can be included upon request.
If using our equipment we provide waterproof paddle cagoules, spraydecks, bouyancy aids, helmets & of course a boat & paddle! So you just need comfortable base layers suitable for the time of year. Wetsuits are available for hire for additional £10 for weekend but must be tried on for fit prior to start of course. You can of course bring your own suitable paddling kit. If you'd like some advice on kit please do not hesitate to give us a call..
