We meet near Ross on Wye at 10.30 am & finish at Symonds Yat at 4.30 pm approx. A vehicle to shuttle drivers back to their cars is provided by us.
This trip is for you if: you have been kayaking 2 or 3 times before, & want to experience a full days river trip amidst great scenery
We provide buoyancy aids (compulsory), waterproof paddling tops, and all necessary paddling equipment. So you need to turn up in basic sports wear e.g. shorts and t shirt. It’s sensible to bring a spare fleece top just in case it gets colder than expected. On hot days don’t forget sun screen and a sun hat.
If it’s cold/rainy: A warm hat, fleece top and tracksuit type trousers are ideal. (not jeans and hoodies, as they hold water). Waterproof trousers can be worn if you feel the cold or you can hire a wetsuit from the centre for £10 for the day.
You must wear footwear - old trainers, sandals, or wet shoes. They must stay on in the water, so flip-flops and crocs are unsuitable.
A towel and a complete change of clothing (and shoes) are required for everyone!
Wetsuits are not essential, but if you have one you can always bring it.
For the river trip, a packed lunch and drink is required.
If you wear glasses or sun-glasses, we suggest you secure them. Neoprene spec-bands are available to buy at the centre if required.
